Burnie Makers Workshop
2010 the ‘Year of the Potato’ at Natural History Productions.
NHP was again contracted by David Lancashire Design to provide display material for the Burnie Makers Workshop and Visitor Centre in Tasmania.
An artist & technician were employed for weeks to make hundreds of spuds which would go on permanent display. We also made 30 replica opium poppies. For another showcase we produced 3 exotic fruits replica models: A huge Pandanus fruit from PNG, an 80cm long bean from the Magic Asian Drumstick Tree and a Malabar Chestnut fruit from South America.
What have these exotic tropical fruits got to do with the north coast of Tasmania? Well you’ll just have to go to Burnie Makers Workshop and Visitor Centre to find out…
